Alliteration is a repetition of initial consonant sounds in a phrase or verse.
Example: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Assonance is repetition of vowel sounds in a phrase or verse.
Example: Mary, Mary, quite contrary.
Example: I felt as free as a breeze.
Anaphora repeats words, phrases or clauses at the beginning of successive words, phrases or clauses.
Example: We will not tire... We will not falter... We will not fail...
Example: Blessed are the meek... Blessed are the poor in Spirit...
Epiphora (or epistrophe) repeats words, phrases or clauses at the end of successive words, phrases or clauses.
Example: When I was a child I spake as a child, I understood as a child;
I thought as a child. (1 Cor. 13: 11)
Well, Dear Ones, we made it... next Friday is our final day at IMAGE... what wonderful memories... how good our God is to have held us safely in His Loving Arms and supported us these past months. It has been my privilege to participate in tutoring you this year.
