Salvete, I've been tutoring all day so I haven't gotten to proofread the last portion of your exam. However, for those of you who have completed all the review worksheets, here are several more practice sentences. One document has the sentences in Latin; one has them in English. You can work either way--both will help you review! Miss R *As always, let me know if you find any errors
Salvete, Attached are parts I, II, and III of the Latin exam. Part IV will be uploaded tonight and V will be given on Friday. Remember, you can study all you want but this test should be taken closed book! Please let me know if you have any questions! Miss R
Salvete omnes,
I made a mistake on the answer key--in the third problem in the sentence review section, the ablative of AGENT was used, NOT the ablative of means! Thank you Kip for pointing this out :) Mea culpa! (If anyone finds more mistakes, please let me know) Miss R Hey all, In class on Friday I told you that you'd be doing the Latin to English translation this week and the English to Latin in class. I'd like to reverse this, and have the Latin translation portion on Friday. That way if Miss Robison makes typos or accidentally uses a word you don't know, you will be able to ask her in class! However, if you feel this causes undue hardship, please let me know and I will send you the Latin translation portion! For now: here are some sample sentences with grammar questions like the ones you will see on the exam. For more examples, I encourage you to look through the Henle book! Miss R
Section 3: Adjective Review Although you will not need to fill out a declension chart for this portion of the exam, it is very important that you know the declensions! Vocabulary will play an important part in this section as well. Attached: Henle vocabulary list Guide to declining adjectives Sample noun/adjective declension problems.
Section 2: Pronouns Attached: Declension of first, second, and third-person pronouns. Chart to practice the above declensions. Note: I have decided that this is all that will be contained on this portion of the exam (other than a bonus question). There will, of course, be sentences with pronouns on other sections of the exam.
Salvete Omnes! I will be uploading your Latin exam this morning, but I'm going to upload the review sections first. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help at all! I have attached the review material for the first section (Verbs)* 1. A list of all the verbs you have learned this year with their principle parts. To study, make cards or have someone ask you the first principle part. You need to be able to give the other principle parts, the meaning, and the conjugation. 2. Some synopses to help you practice. I'll upload answers ASAP, but if you're impatient, http://www.allverbs.com/ is a great resource! *A few things to remember: The Romans hate having 'iri' together, so it will often change to 'eri' A little rhyme to help you remember the vowel change in the future tense of third and fourth conjugations: bo, bi, bu for 1 and 2 but A and E for 4 and 3!
Salvete omnes,
Friday was our last class this year containing new material! The Friday after Easter will be an exam review, and our final will be the last week of class. I will continue updating the website with homework all week, so please check back for exam review worksheets! FOR NOW, please: -Memorize the new vocabulary on p. 197 -Do exercise 229. Be sure you can identify what type of ablative should be used and why. -Study all of the vocabulary from this year in preparation for your exam (if you would like me to upload the most recent vocabulary to Quizlet, please let me know). -Do the following synopses*: trado in 1st sing mitto in 2nd pl pono in 3rd sing moneo in 1st pl appello in 2nd sing *please email me if: you forgot how to do a synopsis, you would like me to check your synopses, or you would like more synopses to do :) You're all superstars!
